Riding the Waves of Intuition: My Solo Journey to Maui & the Magic of Frequency
When I followed my intuition to Maui for 77 hours, I rediscovered a few profound truths about healing: solo travel vibrates at the frequency of liberation. As a sound healing practitioner, I view the world through the lens of vibration and frequency – and this spontaneous journey reminded me why I was drawn to solitary adventures in my twenties.
Solo Travel and Frequency
For those who understand energy and vibration, you'll resonate with this: when traveling alone, we can fully attune to our soul's unique frequency. This isn't just spiritual philosophy – it's quantum physics in action. Every particle in our universe oscillates at specific frequencies, from our cellular structure to our thought patterns. Solo journeys create a clean energetic slate, free from external interference patterns, allowing us to hear our internal resonance with crystal clarity.
When traveling alone, I can ride the vibes the frequencies of the experience and I can freely move through the whispers of my soul song. We move through a world of vibration, of frequency. The material world and material science is not as it appears. It's in these moments of solitude that we truly tune into our own unique frequency - uninfluenced by the energetic fields of others. Just as sound waves travel through space, creating patterns and harmonies, our solo journeys allow us to discover our own natural resonance. This deep understanding of frequency and vibration isn't just metaphysical poetry - it's quantum physics in action. Everything in our universe vibrates at specific frequencies, from the cells in our bodies to the thoughts in our minds.
When we travel alone, we remove the interference patterns of others' energies, allowing us to clearly hear our own internal resonance - that pure, healing frequency that connects us to our truest self. This perspective beautifully bridges the gap between the scientific understanding of frequency and the spiritual experience of personal freedom. It's actually a profound recognition of how energy, vibration, and consciousness interweave in our human experience.
From Dissociation to Presence
My recent healing journey revealed a powerful insight about trauma recovery and nervous system regulation. After years of using dissociation as a survival mechanism (and let's be clear – there's no shame in how we've learned to cope), sound healing and hypnosis therapy have helped me understand something crucial: presence is where the magic happens.
Life unfolds in technicolor when we suspend judgment and remain curious. Moving beyond black-and-white thinking, I've discovered that every experience – like every frequency – serves its purpose. Just as a sound healer works with various tones to create therapeutic soundscapes, embracing our full emotional spectrum creates a richer life symphony.
Life is more enriching when I am connected to the world around me. This goes back to one of my shadows that has been resurfacing as Im navigating some treacherous waters in my interpersonal relations. DISASSOCIATION. I want to first off say, there is no shame in the game. Disassociating has been a great tool for me to navigate life with. Honestly, if my brilliant mind didn’t create this coping mechanism as a child I wouldn’t have navigated or survived the terrain my cards dealt me. Yet after years of harmonizing my nervous system and healing through sound & hypnosis, I have seen the way that this brilliant coping mechanism transferred into a shadowy vice of the subconscious mind. When I experience things in life that feel like “too much” I easily slip into the spells of disassociation.
Yet, I have never been as stable in my nervous system as I am now. So a few weeks ago I decided to conduct my own experiment of allowing myself to feel it all. This is what I found… Life around me no matter how painful opens up its magic when I choose to be present, curious and suspend judgement. For me black and white thinking felt safe… Dualism, “this is good, this is bad - this is black, this is white” placing judgement on the external and internal landscape but really life is a technicolor scale, with all parts of the experience just as important as the rest.
It's through this conscious choice to stay present that we discover the full spectrum of human experience. Just as sound waves contain multiple frequencies that create rich harmonies, our emotional landscape is equally complex and multifaceted. When we allow ourselves to experience the full range of these frequencies - from the deep bass notes of grief to the high vibrations of joy - we begin to understand that each note plays a crucial role in our soul's symphony. This journey from dissociation to presence mirrors the transformation from noise to music. Just as a sound healer works with various frequencies to create healing soundscapes, we too can learn to work with our full range of experiences, understanding that each vibration - whether perceived as 'positive' or 'negative' - contributes to our whole being.
This experiment in feeling it all isn't just brave - it's revolutionary. It's a testament to the power of conscious presence and the wisdom of viewing life through the lens of frequency and vibration rather than rigid dualism. In this technicolor scale of experience, every shade adds depth, every tone adds richness, and every moment - whether comfortable or challenging - offers an opportunity for growth and understanding.
Time Perception, Collective Trauma & Unearthing Desire
As both a trauma survivor and sound healing therapist, I've observed how collective trauma disrupts our time perception. This phenomenon, common in complex PTSD, can leave us either frozen in past traumatic timelines or struggling to envision our future. Dr. Gabor Maté's definition resonates deeply: "Trauma is anything that happens too soon, too much, too fast."
Speaking my desires is not only important but it is vital in living a resonate life. You see, I didn’t think I would live this long. When I was a child I didn’t see beyond the age of 25, as a teen I didn’t see myself making it to 18 and as a maturing woman I look back and think H0LY F**K I am 33. Due to the disruptive time perception that came with cPTSD, I was either stuck in a timeline of when said trauma occurred or was unable to dream/envision a future. This effect is very common when it comes to how trauma influences the mind. As a reminder, we all experience trauma. Dr Gabor Mate said it best imo, when he said “Trauma is anything that happens, too soon, too much, too fast”.
As a sound healing therapist, I have had a unique perspective not only through my lived experience but on the observations I have made as we heal our collective consciousness and collective trauma. I think this experience of disruptive time perception is one many of us experience especially in the current global climate.
Because I didn’t feel able to envision a future, I wasnt able to speak my desires truly and then work towards those (at least personally, professionally my trauma has groomed me as an over achieving go getter with potent drive so this didn’t directly influence my career decisions). I wasn’t able to say let alone envision what I wanted for my future. These really big declarations of desire weren’t possible until I slowed down, harmonized my nervous system and got quiet to listen to the desires of my soul.
It’s not about the desires themselves as much as the declaration affirming to yourself that you are safe to ask for what you want. The journey from trauma to voice, from silence to declaration, is like the progression from discord to harmony. Each time we dare to speak our desires - whether it's dreaming of living off the land, creating a family, or bringing new life into the world - we're actually tuning our energetic field to a higher frequency of possibility. These declarations aren't just words; they're vibrational statements that ripple through the quantum field of our reality.
So my intuition led me on a wild ride but one that is priceless. As these truths continue to integrate I know they won’t only influence my life but also the way in which I hold space for others to heal. Through sound healing and conscious presence, we can reclaim our ability to dream, declare our desires, and align with our soul's true frequency. Whether it's dreaming of living off the land, creating a family, or simply allowing ourselves to want more, each declaration vibrates with possibility in the quantum field of our reality.
