Usui Reiki

Reiki is made of two Japanese words. “Rei” meaning “God’s Wisdom or Higher Power” and “Ki” meaning “Life Force Energy”. It literally means “Spiritually guided life force energy”.

Usui Reiki is a style of reiki gifted to a Japanese man named Mikao Usui. Usui Reiki is the traditional Japanese technique of reiki energy work. It is a healing technique based on the principle that the practitioner can channel energy into the patient. The trained practitioner uses specific hand placements, symbols, and hovering of the hands over the body in an appropriate way. The receiver should feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed the entire time. The exchange of energy or heat combined with healing intentions creates a space where stress relief and healing may take place. Reiki is available to all, it is not a religion and it does not exclude anyone who is interested in receiving or becoming trained.
