Energy Cords
We have all had those relationships in our lives that drain us. You feel exhausted after being exposed to that person. They literally suck you dry of any energy or inspiration. You may even notice that as you leave that conversation you have picked up the energy that they were dwelling in, whether that be sadness, rage, or apathy. Even at times, we can start to form these unhealthy (almost obsessive) bonds to a person, through therapy I have learned this is called trauma bonding. When we become aware of this connection fully knowing this relationship is dangerous to our spiritual, physical, and mental well being- one may find it difficult to remove that influence from their life. Guilt can keep you imprisoned in a relationship that only brings pain. So why are we constantly drawn back to them?
I mean COME ON, let’s get raw.... exes, best friends, and even family members. We can become manipulated into remaining in a connection that only breeds pain. There is always a reason why you won’t let go or can’t fully release them from your sphere. What is it that has you coming back over and over again? Are you ready to cleanse this energy & come back into alignment with your own energetic frequency?
Energy Cords & How to Cut Energetic/Etheric Cords
What are they?
We are constantly creating energetic cords with many people and even objects, but if you feel drawn back to an unhealthy relationship, or want to break negative patterns or addictions, or feel a strong psychic connection to someone that is draining your energy, a cord-cutting ritual may be beneficial.
Energetic cords can remain intact despite space, time or even lifetime (past life connections).
Especially when it comes to relationships, cutting the cord can help break the energetic attachments created and can help you move on to receive new opportunities in your life.
When you have unhealthy cords it causes your Solar Plexus Chakra to be unbalanced and not aligned, this can also effect other energy centers depending on the nature of the connection.
When conducting the ceremony essential oils may make this process easier and more complete. Some oils that may help aid the process are Spruce, Sage, Lavender on the feet, even Vetiver, or Patchouli to ground deeper into your own essence. I have also found that Forgiveness by Dōterra on the navel is for relationships where there is “unfinished business”.
Cutting cords are like pulling weeds so you must pull from the root. Visualization, and also breathing are very important in this process. Taking long full breaths and strong exhalations, releasing as you exhale.
Cutting the Cords
Allow yourself to connect to the Earth, feeling grounded in her aura. Give yourself a few minutes to feel the energies you are calling upon, to feel your lower chakras being grounded in the earth and your top four chakras opening and receiving the sustaining assisting energies of those you have invited (ie. Higher Self, Oneness, God, Spirit Guides, Angels, Ascended Masters)
Cutting the cord: “Dear Spirit Guides, I call upon you to help me heal, let go, and cut any energetic cords that are no longer serving my higher purpose. I ask that all cords attached to me that are not aligned with love, light, and positive intention be released. Help me to release them and surround me with a healing light to protect me from future attachments. Fill me once again with my own essence bringing me in alignment with my own resonance. Connect me to the Divine and allow me to realize my own essence of divinity within. Thank You.”
You may need to repeat the mantra multiple times with your eyes closed in visualization and even speak the name of the person you have been revealed your cords are connected to.
Visualize healing golden light surrounding you. After completing the ceremony take a shower or bath, smudge, cleanse in physical form, drink plenty of water, and relax in a peaceful or comfortable setting.
Ask for the Highest Divine Light to move around you, through you, above and below you, filling each aspect of yourself with the Highest Light. Allow your heart to really open and feel your connection to yourself and the Divine.
